Snow class in 2010 at Saint-Julien-en-Vercors
A five-day account of the January 2010 snow class: train, snowshoeing, skiing, a farm and a cheese dairy.
Monday 18 January 2010
Departure day! First the train to Montpellier, then the shuttle to Saint-Julien-en-Vercors. A picnic on arrival, then a snowshoe walk. A snack, a few slides in the snow, then dinner: already a very full day.
Tuesday 19 January 2010
On the programme: a visit to the farm, getting kitted out for skiing, then the slopes. We start with a little snowplough, of course.
Wednesday 20 January 2010
Lots of skiing, and to unwind some great snowball fights. In the evening, raclette!
Thursday 21 January 2010
The last day of skiing, so make the most of it. The progress is there: future Olympic champions, for sure!
Friday 22 January 2010
Already the last day. The postcards have been sent and it is time to gather belongings, but first, a visit to the cheese dairy.
The snow class is over. Parents and children will be happy to see each other again, and there is so much to tell.
