Educap City, the orienteering race in Montpellier
Middle school students take part in a treasure hunt across Montpellier, with stands and challenges throughout the day.
Our middle school students are invited to take part in a big orienteering race in Montpellier: a treasure hunt in which they set off, map in hand, to discover their city, its history, monuments, curiosities, institutions, associations and companies.
Here are examples of the stands they met during the day:
- introduction to wheelchair basketball with disabled athletes
- introduction to French sign language
- visit of the medical school, the law school, etc.
- visit of the botanical garden
- discovery of a gendarmerie station
- visit of the dance agora
- a stand with the firefighters: putting on their gear, unrolling their fire hose, etc.
- discovery of the CAF and how it works
- an course in simulated blindness
- sports challenges
We took part in the 2017 (5 teams), 2018 (5 teams) and 2019 (5 teams, the best of which finished 11th out of 125) editions.
