Exchange trip to England
Every year, CM1 and CM2 pupils spend a week with English host families, and their penpals then visit us in Montpellier.
Every year, Eridan pupils take part in an exchange with English schools. Our CM1 and CM2 pupils live with their penpals' families, follow them to their classes and take part in local activities (such as skittles) for a week.
Before the trip, a correspondence is set up through an exchange of letters, which lets the pupils get to know each other and gradually build strong bonds. At first the exchange is supervised by the teachers, and very often the pupils then continue with regular conversations using computer tools.
Some time later, the English penpals come to visit us and are hosted by our families.
2010: a group of pupils travelled to Hambridge from 15 to 22 March. They all came back delighted with the trip and the welcome they received. In turn, we will host young English visitors from Hambridge in late April and early May, and show them our school and our region.
2018-2019: visit of Montpellier with the English penpals.
2020-2021: because of the Covid-19 health protocol, the trip could not take place. The teachers nevertheless organised video conferences, in addition to the letter exchanges, to keep the link between our pupils and their penpals.
