The hungry caterpillar in Nursery and Petite Section

As part of our theme on lifecycles in Nursery/Petite Section, we have looked closely at the story of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle.

We have learnt some lovely songs and done lots of beautiful art projects, helping the children to learn not only about the life cycle of a butterfly but also some of the vocabulary they need to talk about it. For the grand finale, one of the children in the class was able to bring in a real butterfly that she had raised at home, so that the class could watch it being released into the school garden to enjoy all the beautiful flowers. The children were thrilled!
