Roald Dahl Story Day
Pupils in CE1 to CM2 came dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl character for a day of activities around his work.
On 13 September the world celebrates the birthday of the illustrious author of so many unforgettable works of fiction, including The BFG, The Twits, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr Fox and Matilda.
Roald Dahl Story Day is an annual celebration of the work of Roald Dahl in which schools in the UK take part to celebrate and fundraise for Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity.
This year, CM2, CM1, CE2 and CE1 joined in the celebrations. Children were asked to come to school dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl character. There were Roald Dahl learning activities such as painting in the style of Quentin Blake (illustrator for Roald Dahl), reading comprehensions, word searches, writing activities and treasure hunts. Everybody, including the teachers, had a fun day.
